octave one announce their new album under the much loved random noise generation guise. the first rng release was falling in dub in 1991 and sounding just as fresh 27 years later, endustry is due for release this spring. something of a new take on their creative process the burden brothers made most of this music on the road while they toured over the past year, using the country they were in at each time they recorded to influence and inspire each track. we were tucked away in so many hotel rooms that we decided to make sure we brought enough extra equipment so that we could set up a true lab to create from country to country and make the grooves that we wanted to experiment with on the dance floor. comments lawrence. this body of work encompasses 7 full length cuts, naturally all with that classic octave one emotion. alkaylze, more than any of tracks on this project, embraced the original spirit of random noise generation in so much as the machine seemed to be really guide the creative process. adds lenny much of the foundation of the composition was very accidental, but inspirational, with various musical devices interpreting data in a very unexpected results. it actually came together quite quickly but things just fell into place so naturally. after touring and making music for decades the spirit and essential energy of the craft is what keeps them eternally inspired to keep creating and touring the globe. once it takes hold of you you cant stop even if you wanted to. says the pair, and so endustry is born.

brazilian born producer and self-confessed studio freak terr will be making her debut with have you ever on permanent vacation. she found recognition with her creative, quirky electronica productions, said to be heavily influenced by her use of analog gear, her sound is a combination of techno, house and disco with futuristic textures and elements. throwback disco meets techno, alongside a scintillating synth in have your ever, not forgetting the mesmerising robotic female vocal hook. a thunderous kick drum bass line combo takes the dub version into a more late-night dance edit of the original. hauntingly cinematic with its hook line, memoir hints on some intergalactic synthetic inspiration, which builds into a nearly disco-esque breakdown. this track lends well to roll into twenty thousand leagues metallic and bubbling with its multi-layered textures. its delicate and finely tuned.

adrix (p stands for produtor) is one of those contemporary puzzles: born and raised in lisbon, of angolan descent, he moved to manchester at 19, three years ago. we can say the nervous interplay between bass and beat stems from just that. fierce, techy, twitchy grooves run through the whole of -Álbum desconhecido-. it’s in the blood. not surprisingly, adrix has a soft spot for drum ’n’ bass but that’s because it clicked with the adrenalin rush leaping out of kuduro, his true long-standing obsession.

sis, the alias of burak sar, returns once again to crosstown rebels. following on from releases such 2012s round pen, 2015s sombra india and last years the blindside, the german-born producer heavily influenced by his turkish roots- presents us with this tribal triple-threat. sis explains that it was sending his first ever demo tape to crosstown rebels in 2004 that initiated his relationship with the label and tells us to expect some rolling dance floor breakers. karmir nur gets the ep underway. sensual strings abound with a heady, tribal chant that lulls you into a state of hypnosis. tima rolls along, building slowly as the layers pull you in deeper still towards those familiar strings. dandini brings back the tribal chanting. the vocals are backed by mesmeric drums, perfect for an intoxicating, dance floor procession. burak sar has released a number of records on renowned imprints such as get physical music, mobilee and cocoon recordings as well as running his own successful label, cocolino records.
